One Month! :-D

I thought I'd share, in honor of my one month blog-posting, my first Danny-Gregory-Just-Do-It-Already drawing from back in May. The outline's a blind contour of a plant, and the end result amazed even me (after having not drawn for a couple years).

I also want to extend a gigantic THANK YOU to everyone who's left me lovely, encouraging, funny, kind, generous comments over the past few weeks. It's hard for me to respond to all of you (mostly because one comment turns into 2, which turns into 7, and then an entire A/P file goes out the window...), but I want you to know that I read them all, and they leave me warm and bubbly all day (just ask some of my officemates!). Everyone's work inspires me a whole lot and it's been great getting to know all of it, and you too.

What's this? A twofer! I'm including a sketch of an illustration I'm doing for a class (a final! :-0). It's a narrative of the Griffin. Or Gryphon. Maybe I'll get an A-, who knows. I thought it'd be fun to have a running status report until Sunday, when I'm supposed to be finished with it. Plus it'll give me a chance to engage more in this blog. I kinda feel like I've been slacking a little :-/.

And I've never been big on emoticons. What's the deal tonight?  §|:->

Draw A Stapler

I went into this one thinking, meh....am I really going to draw another office supply? but I'm actually happy with the way it turned out.

For the moment.

Blogophobia

I can't tell you how many times I second guess myself before I post. Anyone else go through this?

Krantz

I need a butler. There are just too many things I can't remember to do. Like make my bed in the morning. Krantz would be perfect for this.

Some File Folders

I drew this one a couple weeks ago, right before I nearly drowned in paper.

Once more, with color!

I'm not a big fan of Starbucks. I think their coffee's normally too expensive and burned-tasting... however! I love their gingerbread lattes (they're calling them ginger snap lattes now...?), and this time of year rocks because of said gingerbread(snap) lattes. Not sure what it is about them that's so delicious -- it could be I'm just a sucker for anything Christmas, and a cold day screams for gingerbready(snappy) goodness. Whatever, my point is I couldn't resist one yesterday, and the minute I saw the little green mermaid plugs they're adding to keep the coffee warm (I'm guessing), I couldn't resist drawing it either.

drawing at the office

Some of my most nagging urges to draw happen when I'm supposed to be doing something else entirely.

Authorities Are Ruling Out Foul Play

Spider-guy sat atop a mildly delicious Halloween cupcake (courtesy of the office manager lady), and he was just so darned cute I couldn't resist a doodle. He remained an ornament on my desk until this morning. He had expired. Spider-guy died. So it goes.
