One Month! :-D

I thought I'd share, in honor of my one month blog-posting, my first Danny-Gregory-Just-Do-It-Already drawing from back in May. The outline's a blind contour of a plant, and the end result amazed even me (after having not drawn for a couple years).

I also want to extend a gigantic THANK YOU to everyone who's left me lovely, encouraging, funny, kind, generous comments over the past few weeks. It's hard for me to respond to all of you (mostly because one comment turns into 2, which turns into 7, and then an entire A/P file goes out the window...), but I want you to know that I read them all, and they leave me warm and bubbly all day (just ask some of my officemates!). Everyone's work inspires me a whole lot and it's been great getting to know all of it, and you too.

What's this? A twofer! I'm including a sketch of an illustration I'm doing for a class (a final! :-0). It's a narrative of the Griffin. Or Gryphon. Maybe I'll get an A-, who knows. I thought it'd be fun to have a running status report until Sunday, when I'm supposed to be finished with it. Plus it'll give me a chance to engage more in this blog. I kinda feel like I've been slacking a little :-/.

And I've never been big on emoticons. What's the deal tonight?  §|:->

Wowie! (I tend only to read the "top" of the EDM forwarded message collections... and since yours was #1...) Love your Gryphon! and the stapler...
I've resumed posting more frequently, but it isn't always drawing or even "art." I've ALWAYS been a dilletante! Belated welcome to EDM from an intermittent participant. (Do you do Illustration Friday, too?)

Thanks everyone! I've always wanted to do something for Illustration Friday, but something always seems to come up. Yeah I know, excuses excuses.

So you knit, too!
Are you on Ravelry[(dot)com]? I am, but even I can't spend time in THAT many places ;-).

Wow - I LOVE these! Both very different pictures but I love them both - the basil is so clean and precise (love the way you've used heavier outlines on some) and on the griffin, the fuzzy colour is really beautiful. I've been trying to do a cat portrait for friends in a similar style but I just can't make it work. What's your secret? :-)
